Roscommon Area Public Schools

Roscommon Area Public Schools is conducting an assessment of its local wellness plan. A committee of stakeholders will meet on Friday, September 26th at 8:00 a.m. at Roscommon Middle School. The committee's membership includes teachers, administrators, parents and school board members. Members of the public may join the committee in its review of the policy and assessment of district practices.

The School Breakfast Program is available to all students for free every morning in the following locations:

RES Grab and Go
Time: 7:55 a.m.

RMS Cafeteria
Time: 7:30 - 7:55 a.m.

RHS Cafeteria
Time: 7:40-8:00 a.m.

RAPS is proud to host Max Stossel, an award-winning artist and founder of Social Awakening, to talk to our middle school (grades 6-7) and high school students (grades 8-12) about social media and the impact that it has on our lives. His focus in on how social media and excessive phone use influences us, and gives us tools to combat the reliance on these tools. We are looking forward to his presentation!

For families...Mr. Stossel will provide a link to his presentation for families to watch. After a two week window, he will host a Q+A session for students, parents, and guardians via Zoom.

Due to inclement weather, today's G GLF match @ Houghton Lake has been canceled.

Announcement regarding our Fall musical, NEWSIES, from Director Trisha Jackson:

First Day of School (25th)– Lunch – Students can come talk to me in the auditorium and pick up scripting packets for auditions. This applies to both cast and crew!


Second day, Third Day (26th and 27th) – afterschool to 6pm – Open Auditions
(If the character sings and acts – expected to sing and act)
(If the character only acts - no singing expected at auditions)

Class placements for Grades 1, 2, and 4 have been mailed to families. Placements for students in Kindergarten and Grade 3 will be sent out at a later date as we continue to finalize student placements and staffing.  The RES Front Office will be closed starting today until August 11.
