THE MACKINAC BRIDGE HAS BEEN CLOSED WITH NO FORSEEABLE TIME FOR REOPENING. Because of this, the Spectator Bus for the GBB Regional game will NOT run tonight. We apologize for any inconvenience.
This afternoon our school buildings were placed in secure mode for a couple of hours after the district was notified by local law enforcement of a threat directed toward a business in Houghton Lake. As a precaution, we limited access to our buildings while law enforcement investigated.
Police have since given the all clear, and our schools have resumed normal operations.
We appreciate the quick communication from law enforcement and the cooperation of our staff and students while these precautionary measures were in place. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority.

Due to poor weather conditions, tonight's GBB Regional Final vs. Menominee @ Engadine has been postponed until Thurs, Mar 12 @ 7:00 pm.
THANK YOU to the family who donated to help purchase tickets for the game!! The Spec Bus will still run tomorrow. We will leave @ 3:00 pm. Kids still need to turn in permission slips and bring money for dinner on the way to the game.
Tomorrow night's GBB Regional Final will be played @ Engadine High School (Engadine Consolidated Schools, W13920 Melville St, Engadine, MI 49827) instead of Newberry. Newberry's GBB team is playing in the D4 Regional Finals; that's the reason for the site change.
Game time is still 7:00 pm. #GOBUCKS
The Roscommon Area Public Schools Board of Education approved a resolution to begin contract negotiations with Desireè Baerlocher to serve as the district’s next Superintendent of Schools. We are looking at running a spec bus to the Girls' Basketball District Finals tomorrow night in Oscoda. We need at least 25 kids to sign up and actually go to the game. If you are interested in going, then sign up with Mrs. Bigford and bring me $10.00 tomorrow to cover the cost of the ticket. You'll need money for the concession stand too. If we do not get 25 kids, then the bus will not run.
Should the girls win tomorrow, they play in the Regionals on Mon, Mar 9 @ Harbor Springs. We will try and run a spec bus for that game as well.
