Parents of incoming 8th graders (Class of 2031)...

We are in need of an advisor for this class! If you are interested in this position, then email MJ Ewald, RHS Principal, for a job description (ewaldm@rapsk12.net). Should we have more than one applicant, then we set up times for a short interview.

This process is new starting this year and is one that we will use moving forward. Any questions?! Contact either MJ Ewald or Trisha Jackson, RHS Student Council Advisor (trisha.jackson@cancer.org).

At-Risk Funding

The district is committed to transparency and accountability in the use of Section 31a (At-Risk) funds provided by the Michigan Department of Education. These funds support programs and services designed to help students overcome barriers to academic success. The annual Section 31a report summarizes how funds were used, the students served, and the outcomes achieved through these supports. Reporting requirements include tracking student participation and progress, implementing evidence-based interventions through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), and submitting program and fiscal information to the state each year. Survey Results:
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting student well-being and fostering positive school experiences, the district is sharing results from the Spring Student Surveys. These surveys provided students with an opportunity to reflect on their relationships with teachers and other school staff, as well as their social-emotional health and sense of belonging at school. The feedback gathered helps us better understand students' experiences and guides our efforts to create supportive, inclusive learning environments where all students can thrive.

This spring, our district will administer several student surveys designed to provide valuable feedback about our schools, programs, and student experiences. The information gathered helps us better understand what we are doing well and where there may be opportunities for growth and improvement. Student feedback is an important part of our ongoing efforts to create the best possible learning environment for all students.

In compliance with Michigan law, parents and guardians are being notified in advance of these surveys and are encouraged to review the survey materials before administration. Links to each survey are provided below so families can make informed decisions regarding their student’s participation.

Parents and guardians have the right to opt their student out of participating in any survey. To opt out, please contact your school office no later than Friday, May 15th.

We are committed to transparency and will share a summary of the data collected with our community before the end of the school year.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Dear Families,

We’re sharing the attached infographic to provide clear information about the upcoming Non-Homestead Millage Renewal vote on May 5, 2026.

This proposal is a renewal of an existing millage, not a new tax, and would continue funding for school operations at current levels. By law, this millage applies only to non-homestead properties, such as businesses, rental properties, and second homes—not primary residences.

In Michigan, school funding is based on a state formula, and districts like ours rely on non-homestead property tax revenue to support day-to-day operations, including staffing, programs, and student services.

The infographic outlines key details about how this funding works and what it supports within our district.

If you have questions or would like more information, please visit rapsk12.net or call 989-275-6600.

Thank you for taking the time to stay informed.

Infographic titled “Non-Homestead Millage Renewal FAQs” from Roscommon Area Public Schools. It explains that the May 5, 2026 vote is a renewal, not a new tax, continuing current funding levels with no more than 18 mills. The millage applies only to non-homestead properties such as businesses, rental properties, and second homes, not primary residences. It states that Michigan school funding relies on a state formula and local non-homestead property taxes. If the renewal fails, the district would lose about 68% of its funding, leading to program cuts, larger class sizes, reduced athletics, and staff reductions. The graphic includes school branding, a buck mascot, and a call to vote on election day.
Attention 3rd and 4th Grade Parents/Guardians,

Our state testing begins tomorrow! Please review the attached information and help your child come to school well-rested, on time, and ready to do their best each day. We appreciate your support in encouraging a positive mindset and effort during testing week. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher.
