Roscommon Area Public Schools has implemented the TRAILS Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum that is utilized in multiple schools across the state of Michigan. This curriculum is designed by researchers at the University of Michigan in partnership with the Michigan Department of Education.
Michigan Department of Education recognizes that SEL is implemented within schools to improve the health, safety, and wellness of all learners. TRAILS works to build the five SEL competencies: self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, and relationship skills. These competencies are essential in preparing children for success in life.
SEL consistently supports the whole child and aligns with RAPS's vision to educate and inspire all students to achieve academic and social growth that leads to personal development for a successful future.
